The Politics of Trans Visibility campaign was created in honor of Transgender Day of Visibility. This was a call to action to help reframe how this day is so often discussed. Every year the day was usually lauded as a day for celebration as a trans person. The I wanted to dive deeper into what it actually means to be visible as a trans person. I worked with the Marsha P. Johnson Institute team to implement this campaign, from messaging and aesthetics to the posting strategy.
Like many other campaigns I designed for MPJI, I used the four brand colors of the organization and then put my own spin on it using new fonts to keep things fresh. I took this approach to keep everything within general branding guidelines for the institute but still exciting enough to catch the eye of old and new followers alike. So often the human eye can get bored seeing the exact same thing when scrolling through a feed but by mixing it up just enough you can garner worthwhile engagement.
THE MESSAGE: VISIBILITY COMES AT A COST
